The beautiful and historic town of Kells has a heavyweight lineup of writers coming soon.
The Hay Festival Kells will welcome Kevin Barry, Patrick McCabe, Hanif Koureishi, Lisa McInerney, and Vanessa Ronan
The four-day festival will include readings, interviews, lectures, historic tours,a n workshops.
The Festival will also use The Book of Kells as a jumping-off point for The Image. Examining the idea that the ninth-century monks in Kells and Iona who completed the manuscript were among the world’s first graphic novelists, The Image will host an exciting line-up of comic-book artists and writers, including Michael Carroll (Judge Dredd), Rhianna Pratchett (Tomb Raider), Maura McHugh(Witchfinder).
The four-day programme begins on Thursday, June 23rd.

Books by festival authors will be available from the Festival Bookshop Partner, Antonia’s Bookstore in Trim, and from the BOOK MARKet in Kells. Books will also be available over the whole weekend in the Festival Bookshop and at each venue for book signings after events.
